Welcome to Half Acre Farm
Welcome to Half Acre Farm, Brittany, France, which to be honest isn't really a farm. OK if you live in a three bed semi in the town it might seem a huge amount of land, but its not!
Having said that, I describe my little piece of France as half the size I need and twice as much as I can handle. We just play at farming, picking up a piece of straw is an excuse to put it between my teeth and speak in some dodgy west country accent, then spitting the straw out again when I remember which animal had last used it for bedding, many's the time I've stood at the door and shouted “oy you, get orf my tractor” completely overlooking the fact that I don't own a tractor!
IT
Have you got IT? Or do you want IT? But what is IT?
IT
Well IT is what we all want, the problem is identifying IT, to some the big house ( and big mortgage), the new car in the drive and the foreign holidays is IT, but now thanks to celebrity chefs and down sizing gurus our ideas of what IT is have changed for many of us, but they make it seem so easy, go and have a look at the cost of a modest small holding in the UK, unless you keep the high pressure job and the mortgage its an impossible dream, living a simple, relaxed stress free life is only for the rich.
I have my idea of what IT is, but we have to be practical and make trade-offs, so what I now have is as near to IT as I can practically and financially get.
So welcome to Half Acre Farm
